Xiaomi has been releasing lots of updates for its wearable segment with each new device. The updates include the addition of some nifty and sleek features. For example, the Mi Band 4 released back in 2019, flaunts a fantastic OLED display instead of a monochrome one, seen at its predecessor. Now, the attention is focused on the next-gen of Xiaomi fitness wearables, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5. Given that we’re now in the second quarter of 2020, the device might get a launch event soon. The Huami CEO tipped some details about the fitness band, and they’re too good to be true.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Leaks and Other Rumors
Slashleaks have released Xiaomi Mi Band 5 leaks via GizChina recently. The leaked details suggest that the Mi Band 5 will arrive as a significant upgrade. We could witness the launch of a device with a new oval punch-hole display hinting at a possible camera at the bottom of the screen.
Other rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 could sport a 1.2-inch display, while its predecessor has a 0.95-inch AMOLED display. If the feature turns out to be accurate, then we’re finally getting that needed space for icons. And, the better contrast is believed to turn reading under direct sunlight much more comfortable.
However, besides upgrades such as bigger and better displays, the Mi Band 5 will get one of the much-awaited feature, the NFC support. Recent reports claimed such a thing might be possible this time around. Moreover, the reports are accompanied by a series of leaked images.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Possible Costs
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 could be priced starting from $25 on the Chinese markets and a little bit more expensive worldwide. We can expect the fitness device to be relatively more costly than its predecessor, but still more affordable.
