Dark mode has now become a necessity for people all over the world as it is a more comfortable mode to use on mobile phones, especially during night time. Popular applications like Telegram and Twitter have already released the useful mode feature, and now WhatsApp has gotten it as well.
It took a long time for the implementation to come live, but it has finally arrived, as a Twitter post from WhatsApp stated. After testing it for a few months in beta mode, it has finally released the feature for both Android and iOS devices. Because it took so long, people have grown high expectations, but the real deal is not that impressive, to be honest. It is just a simple tweak that alters the brightness of the screen.
A WhatsApp representative explained that in order for the feature to be an eye-friendly mode, the company had implemented a gray-colored background with an off-white combination to lower the brightness scale of the display. As per WhatsApp officials, this technique would enhance the readability of the texts while decreasing the extra light.
How to Enable Dark Mode
For those who were already using a system-level dark mode in either iOS 13 or Android 10, WhatsApp would automatically create a swift alteration to the new feature within the app. For users who are using earlier Android versions, the dark mode has to be enabled manually.
How To Enable WhatsApp’s Dark Mode on Android 9 and Older
First of all, you must ensure that the app is up-to-date with the latest release available in the Google Play Store
• Launch WhatsApp and navigate to the ‘Settings’ menu
• Head to the ‘Chats’ option and tap on ‘Theme’
