WhatsApp 2.19.349 Beta Update Available with Fingerprint Scanner Improvements

WhatsApp holds the title of being the world’s most popular chatting app and this speaks volumes about its performances! After all, getting more than one billion active users is a feat that only the greatest apps can achieve and this is all thanks to the constant stream of updates that WhatsApp benefits from. Not just that, but the developers who are in charge of WhatsApp put a high price on user security and they are always finding new ways to enhance the privacy levels that WhatsApp offers.

Since we are talking about how safe it is to chat via WhatsApp, we need to mention that a brand-new update has recently arrived and that it focuses on taking the security of WhatsApp to the next level. No one wants their conversations to be seen by other people and this is why the new update introduces fingerprint support.

WhatsApp 2.19.349 Beta Update

The first thing that we want to mention about WhatsApp’s latest update is that even though it is rolling out via OTA (over the air) channels, not all users are eligible to download it right now. The reason behind this is that the new update is available in the form of beta. On the bright side of things, WhatsApp’s developers are allowing everyone who uses an Android-powered smartphone to join the beta program.

Fingerprint Support

WhatsApp users who are enrolled in the beta program are advised to download the new update as soon as possible because it allows them to set the app to require a fingerprint verification before opening.  This feature can be accessed by following the next steps:

Tap Settings – Account – Privacy – Fingerprint lock and enable the “Unlock with Fingerprint” option. Now, no one is going to be able to spy on your conversations again.
