Riot Games‘ advanced and optimized tactical multiplayer FPS game, Valorant, launched a few months back. Originally, the developers have offered closed beta access to a limited number of players, and then the stable version released for Microsoft Windows only.
From the beginning, the game had a few errors and bugs that Riot Games has since addressed. Now, most of the Valorant players have reported getting the vcruntime140.dll Missing Error after downloading the 1.07 Patch.
So, if your game also encounters this error, then this troubleshooting guide is for you. If you haven’t updated to Patch 1.07 yet, we recommend not installing it until the developers release a hotfix update for the issue.

Riot Games has taken into consideration the issue and that the vcruntime140.dll missing error is affecting numerous players after upgrading to Patch 1.07, and a hotfix is on the way.

In the meantime, players affected by this flaw can try to temporarily solve it by performing the following steps.
- Check which system type you’re using on your Windows – go to the settings menu by pressing the Window key + I key, then head to ‘System,’ ‘About,’ and ‘System type’
- Visit the Microsoft website here and download the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime that matches your system type
- Once downloaded, install the Runtime program on your PC and then restart the computer
- Launch the Valorant game, and the vcruntime140.dll missing error won’t appear again
Still, if in case you’re still unable to launch the game because of the same error, it is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the game from the official Valorant website. Even though this is not a good idea, you can try it rather than waiting for a fix. If you, however, prefer to wait, Riot Games developers are working on a fix, which will come out soon.
