Twitter Enters The Mac App Store

Twitter is one of the most popular social media applications in the world. As you may know by now, the app is not available on all OSs despite its huge popularity.

Twitter has not been available, for instance, as a desktop app on macOS by now, but it seems that things are changing these days.

Twitter enthusiasts get great news.

Twitter decided that it’s time to give Mac users what they’ve been asking for a really long time.

It’s been announced that the desktop version of Twitter is now available in the Mac App Store.

It’s worth noting, on the other hand, that the app is only compatible with Macs that are running on the macOS Catalina, which is the newest version of the OS.

Twitter for macOS Catalina

Twitter can now be found for download in the Mac App Store, and the social media app is not even in the beta program.

It’s currently out of the testing phase, which is pretty great news.

The new Twitter app was built with Catalyst

The new app has been reportedly built with a Catalina framework that’s called Catalyst.

Just in case you never heard of Catalyst by now, this framework has been created by Apple for the purpose of making it possible for developers to port their iPad apps over to Mac while doing much less work.

Catalyst also made it possible for Twitter’s developers to port the apps to macOS, but this is not what they did now with this latest move.

It’s been reported that the developer wanted the mac version of Twitter to have the ability to provide the best US and this is why the UI has been revamped.

Some small design changes were added, and the app looks better while it runs on the macOS Catalina.
