Three Apps Draining Your iPhone Battery And How to Stop That

We all know that Apple is way more rigid than Google in what concerns the apps and games allowed into its App Store. However, there are still over two million iOS applications to choose from.

While numerous apps can be of great help when needed, the amount of data tech companies gather from users is straight-up shocking. However, you can keep them in line by adjusting a few settings. Moreover, these apps could also be the cause of the excessive battery drainage your device is suffering from. Here are some of the most popular apps widely known for draining your battery.

Facebook

The Facebook app uses a shocking amount of battery life. Without you adjusting a few settings, it runs continually in the background and automatically syncs updates, as well as contacts.

To fix these issues, you need to disable location settings and Background App Refresh. The next step requires disabling video auto-play. You can also stop the continual drain of your iPhone battery by disabling notifications.

To turn off notifications, launch the Facebook app, and head over to the menu (the three-kine icon). Next, choose ‘Settings & Privacy’ and then ‘Settings.’ Follow these steps by selecting the ‘Security’ option, then tap ‘Apps and Websites.’ Click on the ‘Apps, Websites, and Games’ option and disable the feature.

Google Maps

Google Maps is one of the most useful applications on the market, but it seems the most helpful apps also do the most drain to your device’s battery. Google Maps needs an incredible amount of data to function properly and provide precise location data. However, there are a few things you can do to keep the app from over-draining your battery.

To solve this issue, stop the app from updating itself when you don’t use it. Also, disable the GPS mode and change the location feature. If you aren’t using the app, or you don’t need it, simply turn them off until you need them.

To adjust the configurations, head over to ‘Settings’ and navigate to ‘Google Maps.’ Turn on ‘Location’ and select one of the following: ‘Never,’ ‘Ask Next Time,’ ‘While Using the App,’ or ‘Always.’ After changing these settings, tap Google Maps on the upper side of the screen, then select ‘Notifications.’ Disable the ‘Allow Notifications.’

Snapchat

Even though it is plenty of fun, Snapchat is one of the apps that manages to drain your smartphone’s battery the most, and also affects the device’s performance. The notification and location services this app offers are sufficient to take the life out of your device.

To fix the annoying battery drainage of your smartphone, you should take into consideration switching off the live location feature. To do so, launch the Snapchat app, and tap on your profile picture located on the upper left side of the display. Click on the ‘Settings’ option on the top right of the screen, and navigate to the ‘Who can…’ section. Tap on ‘See My Location’ option and select ‘Ghost Mode.’

The same section allows you to enable friends to request your location.
