The Sims 5 Potential Release Date and Gameplay

The Sims 4 is one of the most successful titles released by EA and Maxis, but many players are looking forward to the next entry in the series. Read below to learn what we know about the upcoming game at this point.

Potential release date

It is important to note that the game has not been announced officially by EA or Maxis. The latter, which is the developer of the series, is hard at work on new content packs for The Sims 4.  While many fans may love the additional content released for The Sims 4, likely, work on the development of a  new title will not start until the last content pack is released.

Some voices claim that The Sims 4 will receive more expansion packs in comparison to the previous entries in the series. This means that 12 expansion packs have to be released, and only seven are available at this point, besides 15 stuff packs.

According to the latest rumors, a new expansion pack that includes content related to university life will be announced before 2019 ends.

A large number of players miss the old open-world feature, which was present in The Sims 3. The feature was removed because older gaming systems encountered performance issues, but with a new generation of consoles is in development and PCs which can run several instances of a game in high settings, this should not be a problem in the future.

Further monetization

The Sims 4 was released before the golden age of monetization, lacking the built-in store which can be encountered in the case of most modern AAA titles. EA may opt to implement the functionality in the case of a future title, as it may encourage people who don’t wish to purchase a full expansion or stuff pack to acquire items separately.

Only time will tell if a new Sims game will be released in the following years.
