Fans waiting for the release of the popular first-person shooter Half-Life 3 are in for some updates on the game’s status. Valve‘s first product, the Half-Life series, has gained numerous fans all over the world with its mix of combat, puzzles, and storytelling.
The third sequel’s details have been kept in secret for so long that some fans began saying it is one of the greatest mystery on PC gaming. Even though there is some information about the title, there has been no official announcement regarding the development of it.
There’s no Confirmation Yet
Half-Life developer Valve has kept silent about the future of the series. As a matter of fact, many fans are speculating that the game is still being worked on due to the advances in technology. However, the thing is Valve might not even be working on it at the moment.
Even so, the dormant status of the title is still flickering some hope for awaiting fans, as some are awaiting the March 2020 release of the upcoming VR game, Half-Life: Alyx.
In an interview with the gaming studio’s developer Robin Walker, it was revealed that Half-Life 3 was a dreadful prospect, which made the studio consider VR as a leverage of the current status towards a better perspective.
A VR-Based Game Could be Under Development
There is, though, a decent possibility that Half-Life 3 for VR could be released someday, an announcement made at the reveal of Half-Life: Alyx stated. The upcoming Half-Life: Alyx is a prequel of Half-Life 2, but it is not branded as the third entry or sequel of the series.
However, this doesn’t infirm the fact that Half-Life 3 could also come. It doesn’t deny the fact that the title could be VR-based either. Perhaps we will find more at the launch of the Half-Life: Alyx installment.
