The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 might be announced next year, in spite of numerous rumors claiming otherwise. However, Nintendo might pleasantly surprise fans of the game with a release for Zelda: Breath of Wild 2 on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Is Highly Expected
If the leaked sales details are correct, then Nintendo cannot afford to delay the release of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, because the franchise is still as popular as it has always been.
According to a claim on 4Players, The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening has already displaced a massive 430k units in Europe alone. A confirmation made earlier said the game is the fastest-selling Switch title of 2019 in Europe, even though it is possible Pokemon Sword and Shield will match the sales this November.
With massive sales in Japan as well, Link’s Awakening has made Nintendo fans want more of The Legend of Zelda games in the future.
Luckily, it seems like fans won’t have to wait longer to get their hands on the Breath of the Wild 2. There is no official information yet on the game’s release date, even though recent speculations implied an early 2021 launch. This could be the case, as the game was surprisingly announced at the end of Nintendo’s E3 Direct conference in June.
It’s Going To Be Much Darker Than Earlier Sequels
Just a few details were unveiled about the Zelda: Breath of the Wild franchise, besides the fact that it is coming to Nintendo Switch. The gaming studio has also previewed the game with a new story trailer, depicting a menacing new enemy for Link and Zelda.
The game is rumored to be much darker in tone than all the other Zelda sequels, more so when compared to Link’s Awakening.
Things definitely look quite grim in the trailer, so hopefully we’ll see more footage soon.
With regard to The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, the latest released Switch title is a full-scale remake of the 1993 Game Boy launch. It packs a colorful new art style, and also a new dungeon mode.
