Bethesda is currently developing the long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6, and unfortunately, there are not many details to reveal regarding the storyline of the game. Everything is speculation, starting from the setting and finishing with the period. We have a lot more to wait before Bethesda reveals us something about the game, but this did not stop fans from coming up with different theories.
Two years have passed by since the trailer was made public, and ever since then, the theories have started surfacing the internet. According to the trailer, the setting is somewhere in the mountains, in an area with a lot of vegetation, bearing a striking resemblance to the land of Solstheim from Skyrim’s Dragonborn DLC. It is not much, to begin with, but it might be a hint that the company has decided to go back instead of moving forward.
The officials might opt for taking the storyline back in the first era, given the fact that jumping around the timeline is something that the developers have already done with the Elder Scrolls: Online. The choice of going back might be owed to the mystery of Dwemer, the one who activated the Heart of Lorkhan, which resulted in their disappearance that occurred during the first ear. It is highly possible that the characters will be empowered to tamper with the development of the story and even influence the Battle of Red Mountain.
Another possibility is that the officials might opt for keeping the series into a chronological order, which somehow would bring players to the first ear with the help of a time machine. It would not be the first time since Bethesda decided to opt for this strategy with the Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The explanation for time-traveling would probably come from a magical accident.
