Pete Hines from Bethesda confirmed that Starfield will be released before The Elder Scrolls 6, which will be released “years from now.”
Fans of The Elder Scrolls have been waiting for many years to play a new entry to the series. The franchise is hugely famous for games like Skyrim, Oblivion, and The Elder Scrolls Online, a fresh approach to the series.
Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls games were a massive success, and for a good reason. The experience is unique – Skyrim became a benchmark for RPG games soon after release. Though the game is nearly a decade old, it’s still going strong. The community is extremely active, new maps and quests are released weekly, and there are thousands of mods available to enhance the experience to your liking.
Unfortunately, we will have to make do with what Skyrim has to offer for a while (or play The Elder Scrolls Online, alternatively), because this is what Pete Hines tweeted:
It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations.

The tweet provoked various reactions among the community. Some gamers understood that the game is massive, and Bethesda has other projects to finish first, while others were less understanding.
Mark Campbell believes that Bethesda failed to manage gamers’ expectations when they announced The Elder Scrolls 6 in 2018. He thinks that was a rushed move, especially because now they tell us that we’ll have to wait for “years.”
Some gamers are not too happy about the fact that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be using the same engine as Starfield and Fallout 76, which did not rise to the same quality level as Fallout 4 or other Bethesda-made games.
