Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies – Riot Games Officially Launches TFT for Mobile Devices [Android & iOS]

Riot Games, the League of Legends developer and publisher announces today that Teamfight Tactics (TFT) will be available in App Store and Google Play starting with March 19. Teamfight Tactics will officially launch on mobile devices with the new set titled ‘Galaxies.’

The eight-person free-for-all strategy game based on the League of Legends universe (LoL champions, items, and several other features) is an autobattler that has risen to popularity since it was launched in 2019.

Teamfight Tactics is a cross-platform game – it can be played on PC and on mobile devices. With 80 million players globally, Teamfight Tactics continues to be updated with new content every four months.

This takes us to the incoming release of Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies, the third set of champions, new traits, abilities, items, and new mechanics! Galaxies will also bring a new ranked season, rewards, Little Legends, Map Skins, a paid content pass (Galaxies Pass+) and more. We’ve also added a cheat sheet at the bottom of this article to help you out with the synergies in the new set.

Early access to TFT on mobile for Android has been helpful for the developers to squash those nasty bugs and get ready for Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies, which will be launched on March 18 with the release of Patch 10.6.

The first mobile game from Riot Games will bring a lot more features than we have seen so far in early access. Here’s what you will need to know if you play Teamfight Tactics on your mobile device.

Teamfight Tactics Launch – New Features

The following new features and existing features on the PC version will come to mobile:

  • Galaxies Pass and Galaxies Pass+ (Free and Paid progression-based features that allow players to unlock content as they play games)
  • Galaxies-themed Booms! (Personalized Damage Animations)
  • PC/Mobile Crossplay
  • New Player Tutorial (on Mobile)
  • Galaxies Little Legends (Personalized Player Avatars – Squink, Abyssia, Starmaw)
  • Galaxies-themed Arena Skins
  • Ranked Play

Attention: According to Riot, not all regions will get to play TFT on mobile at launch:

“TFT on mobile will not be available at launch in China and SEA. There won’t be crossplay (at least at launch) in China or SEA. However, it will have crossplay in most other regions and Galaxies will still be available on PC in China and SEA.”

Other features that are not available on launch, but would go live “in the near future” are:

  • Store/Loot
  • Tablets support
  • Spectator Mode

Teamfight Tactics – Minimum Mobile Specs and Requirements

According to Riot, players will be able to play TFT on a mobile phone, by using Riot Accounts. These accounts can be created through Google and Gamecenter. Players that already have an account on PC can connect with the same name and password on their mobile device.

iPhone users will be able to play on an iPhone 6s (minimum requirement).

Android mobiles will need the following minimum specs:

  • Android OS 7 or higher
  • Greater than or equal to 1.5G RAM
  • Hardware/Chipset of 64-bit variety
  • Phone ABI of either arm64-v8a or x86_64 variety
  • Phone OpenGL ES version of 3.0 or higher
  • If a player’s phone is 32 bit or running a 32-bit operating system on a 64-bit chip, they can’t install. Players can figure this out by searching what their phone ABI is. If it is not at least “arm64-v8a” then they have 32 bit.
