Someone Managed to Install Windows 10X on a MacBook

A few days ago, Microsoft launched the first public emulator for Windows 10X, which enables people to enjoy and experiment with the different world the new operating system offers.

However, even though Windows 10X is developed exclusively for dual-screen and foldable devices, it was only a matter of time until someone discovered how to install it on a regular computer. That is what Twitter user @imbushuo did. They did not get the Windows 10X running on a regular Windows-powered device but on a MacBook, of all things.

The UI on MacBook is the same as an emulator, which means that the Apple device is now functioning as a dual-screen device. It is pressing the apps into one of the two parts of the display, and it also has two buttons for Start menus.

If Microsoft ever implemented Windows 10X to laptops, this is definitely not the way it would work like. In the end, this clearly is not optimized for single-screen devices; more probably, it will look like one side of the MacBook screen.

Microsoft is Testing the Emulator on the New Surface Devices

Microsoft has recently also shared more details on exactly how it believes application will function on dual-screen devices, such as the Surface Duo and Surface Neo. The tech giant revealed both devices in October 2019, with the smaller Surface Duo powered by Android and the bigger one, Surface Neo, running the now-popular Windows 10X.

Now, the company is preparing developers for the process of testing their application to see how both devices will display them on both screens.

Microsoft’s Android emulator will support Android apps by default, and the Windows 10X version will come with support for basic Windows APIs in order to allow developers to identify hinge positions and optimize their win32 or Universal Platform (UWP) apps for the new devices.
