Samsung Unveils The Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung decided to offer tech enthusiasts a glimpse of how the next-gen foldable smartphone will look like.

The tech giant aired a short ad during the Oscars on Sunday night. Even though the device was not named during the ad, some previous leaks have already confirmed that it will be the Galaxy Z Flip.

Samsung still has to publish the ad on the official social media channels but a screenshot was snapped just in time.

Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Flip

Back in 2019, the tech giant launched the revolutionizing Galaxy Fold. This smartphone was the very first high-end foldable smartphone and it managed to sell faster than all of Samsung’s other flagship devices.

Considering all of this, it’s not a surprise anymore that the company is working hard in order to replicate the same success this year with the new device, the Galaxy Z Flip.

The new foldable phone will come with a clamshell design that is similar to the one used by Motorola Razr.

The exterior screen is touch-sensitive

The phone will feature a dual-lens camera system on the rear side but the feature that truly makes this device stand out is the small exterior screen.

This is located next to the camera, and it will be used to display bits of data and notifications from the apps. It’s also worth noting the fact that the exterior screen is touch-sensitive.

The ad for this device was a complete surprise, and Samsung is praised by tech analysts for using the popular event – the Oscars – to present the upcoming smartphone.

At the bottom of the ad, the following message has been listed for viewers:

“You may notice a crease at the center of the main screen, which is a natural characteristic of the screen.”

Stay tuned for more info about the upcoming next-gen foldable smartphone.
