Samsung Galaxy Note 20 May Pack a Bigger Battery Besides Support for 5G and 120Hz Display

Although we might have believed we’d found everything there is to be known about the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Note 20 Plus battery specs, a new listing shatters every other rumor that surfaced.

Simply put, rather than a 4000mAh battery, the Note 20 may feature a 4300mAh unit. Last month, the supposed Galaxy Note 20 spaces leaked with an implied model number EB-BN980ABY, and having a 4000mAh capacity, instead of the 3500mAh of the Galaxy Note 10

A 3500mAh to 4000mAh would be a great improvement in previous years, but in 2020, with numerous smartphones featuring support for 5G and 120Hz display refresh rates, every small increase helps.

An identical EB-BN980ABY unit was now discovered in the Chinese certification database with 4170mAh rated capacity, which actually translates to 4300mAh regular capacity, or, the exact battery pack the Note 10 Plus has.

This makes more sense when it comes to supporting the phone’s 120Hz display and 5G connectivity; besides, Samsung doesn’t need to create a new battery for the Galaxy Note 20. The smartphone and the Note 20 Plus are rumored to launch with next-generation LTPO screen panels that will allegedly have an adaptive refresh rate.

This, as well as the eventually upgraded processor, could mean that users would probably get from the 4500mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Plus similar lifespan to what the 5000mAh battery offers in the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

With the latest piece of information, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Plus will pack a 6.42-inch display with 2345 x 1084 resolution, 404 PPI, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz with LTPO or 60Hz LTPS. Its battery capacity would reach 4300mAh.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 20 Plus would, therefore, feature a 6.87-inch screen with 3096 x 1444 resolution, 497 PPI, 19.3:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz with LTPO refresh rate. In addition, the battery specs would reach 4500mAh.
