Samsung Galaxy Fold 2: Are We Really Getting Two Batteries?

Rumors with regards to the next foldable smartphone coming from Samsung are everywhere. We are talking about the Galaxy Fold 2. Some rumors also talk about the affordable model of the phone, and others talk about a vertically folded clamshell design – just like the same ol’ flip phone.

Even if we don’t have the real name of the phone yet, we know that its codename is “Bloom.” Its model number is SM-F700F. Some recent leaks talked about the batteries, which gave us an idea about the form of the device.

The device will come with two batteries

As per some recent reports, the Galaxy Fold 2 will come with two batteries, just like its predecessor. But these two batteries will be different, they will not have the same size and capacity.

The capacity of the battery for Galaxy Fold was 4,380mAh – both batteries combined. The batteries on the last one were equally distributed into two halves. One half had a 2,135mAh battery, and the other a 2,245mAh battery.

As per some sources, the Galaxy Fold 2 will have two batteries, with part numbers EB-BF700ABY and EB-BF701ABY. The capacity of the EB-BF701ABY battery will be of 900mAh. However, we don’t know for sure the capacity of the EB-BF700ABY battery. We think it would be bigger than 900mAh, due to the fact that the combined capacity cannot be of 1800mAh, because it won’t be acceptable for a flagship.

The design is confirmed

As seen, Galaxy Fold 2 will have a clamshell design, and the display will fold vertically, just like a flip phone. The battery arrangement is perfect for this design, since the vertical part will be home for the smaller battery, and the horizontal part will be home for the larger battery.
