Redmi K30 5G and 4G – Specs, Availability, And Price

Xiaomi has released its highly awaited Redmi K30 device, with support for 5G and the newest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 765G. The new chipset usually is only for devices supporting 5G, but the tech giant has developed a 4G version of the smartphone for those who don’t use or don’t have access to 5G.

Redmi K30 also packs Sony’s brand new 64MP IMX686 image sensor. This is the first smartphone that features this sensor, which is after the fantastic IMX586 of last year. It has a 1/1.7-inch overall size and 4-in-1 1.6μm large pixels.​

There is enough pressure on the Redmi K30​ to demonstrate its worth as the successor of last year’s K20 series. In the first month alone after release, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro managed to sell more than one million units. Whether Redmi K30​ will be a more innovative and impressive device than its predecessor, the following specs will show.

Redmi K30 Design

The Redmi K30​ lineup features four color options dubbed Deep Sea Light, Time Monologue, Flower Shadow, and Purple Jade Fantasy. The device pack thin bezels but has a slightly denser chin. Redmi K30​’s cameras are slot-shaped, and similar to OnePlus 7T, the model comes with a frosted glass finish.

The 5G version of the device has a 5G icon under the primary camera array, so the feature is noticeable. Removing the pop-up mechanism for a display cut-out in the front, Xiaomi made the Redmi K30​’s looks quite impressive. The dual selfie cameras are located in the right corner of the screen, and the bottom side of the phone shows a USB-C Type Port and the much-needed 3.5mm headphone jack.

A fingerprint sensor sits along with the power button and the volume keys on the right edge of the device.​ In general, the smartphone’s design looks quite impressive.

Redmi K30 5G Specs

Redmi K30​ is powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC, with the ‘G’ in the processor’s name standing for ‘gaming;’ the octa-core SoC is packed to help OEMs lower the prices on 5G phones.

The Full HD+ display has a size of 6.67 inches, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Moving on to the camera setup, the Redmi K30​ features a 64MP, an 8MP, a 2MP and a 5MP cameras on the back, while the front side has a 20MP lenses and a 2MP depth sensor. The system packs Mimojis, RAW format support, Super Night Scene Mode, and more AI-based functionalities.

The battery is a 4,500mAh, which is supported by a 30W fast-charging system that Xiaomi says can charge the smartphone from 0 percent to 100 in one hour. Redmi K30​ will run Android 10 out of the box, and the MUI 11.

Redmi K30 4G Specs

The Redmi K30​ 4G packs the same specifications as the 5G model, but the processor, camera setup, and battery are different. It receives the Snapdragon 730G SoC, and the back camera array features a 64MP, a 2MP, another 2MP and 8MP sensors. The device reaches 27W in fast-charging. All colors, except for the Time Monologue variant, are available.

Price and Availability

Redmi K30​ 5G is supposed to have a starting price of $284 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage variant. The option with 128GB of storage costs $327, the 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage model comes with the price tag of $370, and the 256GB of storage version costs around $400.

The regular 4G version of Redmi K30​ starts at the price of around $230 for the 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. The following model packing 128GB of storage is priced at $245, the 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage version comes at $270, and finally, the 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs $315.

Xiaomi already has the 5G version of Redmi K30​ on pre-sale in China. The devices’ release date outside China has not been announced yet, but we can expect a reveal soon.
