All of the recent leaks surrounding Rockstar Games were mostly about Grand Theft Auto 6, which appears to be under development at the moment. A few days ago, unconfirmed information was posted online, and it claims that Rockstar created a surprise for gamers and fans of its Red Dead Redemption franchise.
One of the leaks was posted anonymously on 4chan, and it says that Rockstar Games will release a Red Dead Redemption Remake next year.
However, the source didn’t back up the claims with any proof. They only mentioned that the possible release of a Red Dead Redemption remake would fill the gap between now and when GTA 6 is released.
The post was ulteriorly deleted. Here is the most interesting part of it:
“It’ll be a RDR1 remake for PC, [PlayStation 5], and Xbox Series X. Basically RDR1 in RDR2’s engine, with some of the new shit like better hunting, and fishing. A few [voice actors] have been brought back (including Rob Wiethoff) to record some new lines, I’d expect new missions. Announcement sometime soon, release is scheduled for [January 1 – June 30, 2021. [GTA 6] announcement is summer 2022.”
That would be an exciting combination, an old, well-rated game running on a new engine with new animations, actions, and added content.
The post sounds a bit too good to be true, and that’s precisely what Rockstar leaker Yan2295 said on Reddit’s gaming board.
He expressed his disbelief in the news because there’s no evidence to back it up.
User Yan2295 is a popular leaker who has previously leaked accurate information about GTA Online in the past, which proves he has some connections at Rockstar, so he gained fame in the community for being (or knowing) an insider.
