Radeon RX 6800 XT vs. GeForce RTX 3080

The Radeon RX 6800 XT graphic card release is fast approaching. AMD is getting closer to the big reveal, and we can’t wait to find out if the upcoming graphic card will outpass Nvidia’s RTX 3080. The war is about to begin!

There is no secret that Nvidia has been at the top in recent years; however, the upcoming graphic card from AMD might catch up with them. Ever since Nvidia has launched its graphic cards with ray-tracing cores into their GPUs, they dominated the market. However, the new Radeon RX 6800 XT might even things.

AMD’s graphics architecture, Big Navi, is introducing ray-tracing cores into the upcoming flagship. The next Radeon series will finally have the chance to compete against Nvidia. Taking into consideration that those will be the first Team Red cards to feature ray-tracing, we don’t expect them to surpass the RTX 3080 in this department. However, the latest leaks suggest that RX 6800 XT could offer better performance in non-ray-traced gaming.

Radeon RX 6800 XT Release Date

Unfortunately, we don’t know precisely when the next flagship is coming out. However, AMD will tell us more details about it on October 28. This flagship will more than likely be part of the first Big Navi cards series. Although we are not sure about the official release date, judging by the announcement time and retail launches, it should arrive on the market sometime in November.

Price

The upcoming AMD graphic card will probably cost around $699 since it will go against the GeForce RTX 3080.

Specifications

We are not entirely sure what to expect from the next-gen AMD graphic card. However, according to the latest leaks from Newegg, here is what Radeon RX 6800 XT might bring to the table:

  • 3,840 stream processors
  • 12GB GDDR6 memory
  • 385Gbps max memory bandwidth
  • Base clock anywhere from 1,500MHz to 2500MHz
  • 200W TDP
