Sony is ready to reveal PS5 games in an event that will take place on June 4th. PlayStation fans can expect numerous titles from both large and smaller studios in the game showcase that will kick off at 1:00 p.m. PT (4:00 ET) and will run for more than an hour.
This means we can anticipate lots of games, probably including first-party exclusives, something that the Xbox Series X May 7th event lacked. The company’s announcement of the event in a blog post was rather short on details as to what exactly we can expect from it.
What Games to Expect for PS5
Jim Ryan, Sony’s CEO, mentioned that the technical specs of the upcoming PS5 and the DualSense controller had already been unveiled, and now it’s time to announce the games. There was no reference to the reveal of the finalized design of the console, but it seems like we may have to wait a bit longer for that.
When it comes to the games we can expect, there was no mention of those either. However, numerous rumors claimed a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn could be under development, so that would definitely be a title we’d love to see on PS5. Also, there are some hints that Gran Turismo 7 will be a PS5 launch game.
Bloodborne was a main exclusive title for the PS4, so a new installment to that on the next-generation console would certainly be exciting for its fans. God of War was another hit for the PS4, even though the game was under works for a long period and only came out in 2018, so a sequel for it could be too much to expect; however, it is possible we’ll get a teaser.
There are already numerous confirmed games for the PS5, including Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Vallahla, Godfall, and Outriders. We’ll definitely get a lot of teasers and trailers of those titles, as well as some new games from third-party studios.
The PS5 showcase can be watched on Twitch or on YouTube.
