Pokemon Go: Niantic Announced The Throwback Challenge

Pokemon has been an iconic franchise for several years, with several games being released in the long-running series, including mainline and spinoff titles that have entertained millions of people from all over the world. As an homage to the history of the Pokemon games, Niantic has announced a new event for Pokemon Go, which is quite popular among smartphone owners. During the month of May, players will have the chance to unlock a selection of Throwback Challenge Timed Research quest lines.

These challenges will be featured in the Today View section of the game and will include a series of tasks that have to be addressed in a timely manner. Each questline will take players through eight sets of three tasks that can be completed to earn rewards.

During each week, the tasks will change to reference one of the Pokémon regions which were present in previous games. Pokémon that appeared in these regions will appear more often in Pokémon Go to help players who wish to tackle the tasks.
