A global video game epitome, Pac-Man, is close to turning 40 years old. The maze arcade game created and published by Namco in 1980 has been a gaming icon for many years now, making waves for decades.
For those who are not familiar with the game, the player has to control Pac-Man, who is required to eat all the dots and the fruits inside a sealed maze, and avoid the pesky ghosts. However, consuming large flashing dots known as power pellets, make the ghosts turn blue, which is when Pac-Man can eat them for bonus points.
The game has received a new UI recently, which highlights the five bold colors of Pac-Man and the ghosts. It can, however, be enjoyed on a mobile phone, just like back in the old times at the local arcade.
Pac-Man’s Key Features
Here are some new features of the retro arcade game, along with its classic ones, such as original mazes, weekly tournaments, and token awards.
Classic 8-bit Arcade Action
Everyone can enjoy the original coin-op icon, Pac-Man, in the game, which comes with great pixels, although it looks, sounds, and feels like you go back in time.
Pac-Man now has unique challenges that await to be explored with brand new mazes, only available on mobile phones. The mazes systems are easy to learn but challenging to master, and at the same time, addictive. Pac-Man is the definition of a simple yet highly immersive game.
Daily Pac-Man Missions
Players can earn token rewards by completing gameplay challenges available every day, such as eating 20 ghosts, consuming four fruits, acquire 1000 points, and so on.
Another way to earn tokens is to take the weekly tournament maze challenge and complete it at our own rate with three different difficulty levels. Strive to get high scores in order to get to the top of the leaderboards.
Players can spend the earned rewards to unlock new mazes or try level up by competing in the tournaments. Pac-Man has gamers earn free daily rewards as well.
Pac-Man 8.0.0 Update
The game has recently received a new update that comes with numerous bug fixes and improvements. Moreover, the Pac-Man 8.0.0 update also brings an all-new visual theme and user experience to coincide with the game’s 40th anniversary.
