New Rumor Claims a New Breath of the Wild Sequel is in the Making

A new rumor started to circulate about possible development of a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. The speculation originates from a Reddit post and claims to be taken from the Twitch stream of Tyler McVicker, who manages the Valve News Network YouTube channel.

This channel shares news and leaks on Valve projects on a regular basis, and now McVicker allegedly claims that he knows of projects beyond Valve, such as the next Breath of the Wild build.

Are These Breath of the Wild Sequel Leaks?

As per a Reddit summarization, some new details were unveiled about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. The game will allegedly be linear as it begins, with a ‘miasmic version of Ganon’ now filling the world. His ‘infection’ has to apparently be cleansed in every region before players progress to another section of Hyrule.

According to the leak, locations now have more depth to them, and dungeons may be included again, with inspiration drawn from a certain unspecified title. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is allegedly inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as from another unspecified game.

There’s No Official Word Yet

This news is rather reasonable, more so if the title takes place in the same classical Hyrule, we’re already used to, and the developers need to freshen the gameplay. Splitting the world would be a major change of pace from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but, meanwhile, Majora’s Mask was a great change of pace from Ocarina of Time.

We should take these rumors with a grain of salt until Nintendo officially announces the sequel, which, if Nintendo Direct reports are correct, could happen very soon. Until then, let’s just proceed with extreme caution whenever such rumors surface.
