Mortal Kombat, known for its amazing characters and graphical content, is getting a refresh. A new tweet suggests that the plot of the game will get more complicated soon.
NetherRealm teased a new storyline that will be the norm for Mortal Kombat 11 from now on. The previous story left us at a massive cliffhanger, and the teaser trailer continued the story from that point.
The tweet itself doesn’t contain a lot of words, but the video speaks for itself:

The message that followed the trailer read “The Epic Saga Continues.”
Of course, theories started popping up, and for a good reason! The new universe is going to be the next level for Mortal Kombat 11.

Current Status Of The Story
Lui Kang and Raiden, the two main characters, left at the end and reappeared in the new trailer of the upcoming storyline.
The story left off with the two, as a new history for the planet is about to be introduced.
While the two were planning to rewrite history with noble intentions, evil forces manifested. In the trailer, we see Shang Tsung returning. Unfortunately, he also brought his band of evil sorcerers.
Some old characters made a comeback in Mortal Kombat 11. Still, it is expected that the new update will introduce a plethora of new characters, alongside remastered editions of familiar ones from earlier Mortal Kombat games.
