Minecraft & Coronavirus: Players Recreate China’s Rapidly Built Wuhan Hospitals

Well, it seems that it was only a matter of time before the coronavirus world hype penetrated the gaming industry as well.

You’re probably aware of the worldwide terror that’s been caused by the Covid-19, aka the coronavirus that keeps making victims in China and triggers panic at a global level.

Abacusnews online publication notes that lots of people in China turned to video games to pass some time while the coronavirus outbreaks are keeping the cities locked down.

It also seems that a lot of gamers managed to find some pretty creative uses for their time.

More Minecraft gamers are working at digitally recreating the construction of the new medical centers in Wuhan. You are probably aware of the fact that these have been created in Wuhan to fight to help the spread of the deadly virus that managed to kill more than 2,000 people so far, according to official notes coming from China.

The official notes are not necessarily reflecting the really according to more analysts, but we’ll not get into this right now.

Chinese Minecraft players play tribute to Wuhan projects 

It’s important to note that two temporary medical centers were built in just a little over a week in the central city of Wuhan. This is the epicenter of the outbreak.

“As many as 40 million people reportedly tuned in to a live stream of thousands of workers toiling day and night to build the structures from the ground up,” according to the online publication mentioned above.

Chinese Minecraft players wanted to pay tribute to these literally vital projects and recreated the medical centers in the game.

They were able to do this with the help of blueprints of the two buildings that the government had previously made available online.
