Minecraft Adds Pac-Man Mode, a Pretty Unexpected Move

A Minecraft developer has decided to create a rather unexpected and terrifying mix by bringing Pac-Mac and the gang into the blocky world of the popular title. This is definitely an instance that shows we can never expect some things the world of gaming throws at us.

At its core, Minecraft has always allowed players to express their creativity and ability to customize. In time, players have been using its engines to create unique and amazing new experiences that almost entirely change the way the game is played.

The new additions are now a fully playable experience for Nintendo Switch and already available in the Minecraft Marketplace. Pac-Man and the gang are ready to offer players some first-person Waka-Waka chaos. The experience comes from developer Gamemode One, a small group of people dedicated to developing mods and DLC packs for Minecraft. Their other items include advanced farming and mining experiences, as well as new game modes.

A ‘Creepy’ Experience

This new DLC has rolled out in celebration of Pac-Man’s 40th anniversary and can be bought for 1340 Minecoins from the in-game marketplace. It goes without saying that the new content naturally follows the classic gameplay that Pac-Man is known for, including the mazes, and the ghosts, but it packs a number of adjustments as well.

“The legendary arcade classic PAC-MAN comes to Minecraft! WAKA-WAKA your way through a-mazeing 3D maze madness! Compete with friends for high scores on ten challenging stages or build your own in the maze editor. Score big points to unlock new power-ups, like the Laser or TNT. Just make sure to watch out for Inky, Pinky, Blinky, Clyde, and… CREEPY?!,” the official description of the DLC says.

While Minecraft Pac-Man is played from a first- or third-person perspective, the Gamemode One has also incorporated a feature called ‘Retro Reflection’ that allows players to monitor ghost positions, similar to the arcade classic.
