Apple’s new iPhone SE 2, or, according to some rumors, ‘iPhone 11 Mini,’ or ‘iPhone 9,’ could finally be released sometime in the spring of this year. As per numerous analysts who are often reliable sources, the tech giant is seriously taking into consideration the launch of a new, cheaper variant of the iPhone.
Released back in April of 2016, the iPhone SE was removed from Apple’s market in 2018. Even so, this handset was an incredible success throughout its life. The reason was its dependable performance that came at a much more affordable price tag than the other Apple smartphones.
This year, the technology giant could use the same ingredients for the creation of the forthcoming iPhone SE 2. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is the most reliable source when it comes to everything-Apple, says that the company hopes to sell between 30 and 40 million of this upcoming mobile device in 2020 alone.
iPhone SE 2 Could be named iPhone 9
There are currently numerous rumors claiming that Apple is going to call the device iPhone 9, and not iPhone SE 2. This makes sense for some, more so because the design of the phone looks pretty much like the one of the iPhone 8, which would only make it a natural descendant.
Moreover, the iPhone SE 2 is not a great choice of name as it could leave clients wondering where precisely this goes in Apple’s smartphone catalog. Choosing more simpler number variants makes more sense.
Also, because of some new video renders created by iGeeksBlog, we can have a better glance at the upcoming iPhone device. It will probably lack Face ID authentication and will pack a fingerprint sensor.
Similar Design to the iPhone 8
Apple could have chosen to use a design that has already made rounds, and has been bringing lots of money to the company to have some funds and be able to provide consumers with a more affordable smartphone.
The new iPhone SE 2 would, therefore, be inspired by the iPhone 8’s design because, aside from the great price tag it has, the design attracts numerous users, more so those who still use the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. The statistics say that more than 100 million people are still using an iPhone 6 model, mostly because they do not like the style that comes with the iPhone X.
Even though the device might come with an ‘old-school’ design, it will pack modern features and functionalities. The iPhone SE 2 could, hence sport a 4.7-inch LCD, Apple’s most recent processor, the Bionic A13, and 3GB of RAM. What we don’t know yet is whether the device will pack a Touch ID fingerprint sensor or a more convenient variant of Face ID.
The Price is Under $500
Above all the specs and features of the iPhone SE 2, the price of the device is what should delight Apple’s fans. The iPhone 8 is currently available starting at $449, and the original iPhone SE was released with the price tag of $399 for the version with 16GB. The price will be an increase in comparison to these examples, evidently, but we can expect it to be somewhere below $500.
