Huge GTA 6 Rumor Busted, Voice Actor Expresses His Disdain For Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto VI hasn’t been officially announced yet by Rockstar Games, but haven’t we heard a bunch of rumors so far? While we can all agree the rumor mill has been going on for too long, GTA fans are always on the lookout for some hints.

Back in 2018, we learned right from the Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser that it wasn’t the right time for a new GTA game. But since GTA V is the third bestselling game of all time, Rockstar will surely announce GTA VI once they have something to show to the world.

Now that Red Dead Redemption 2 is out, the devs can join forces and focus on what all GTA fans have been waiting for in the last years.

Chris Bellard Voices His Displeasure With Rockstar Games

This time, Chris Bellard, the San Andreas protagonist – Carl “CJ” Johnson, was rumored to make an appearance in the next GTA installment. However, Bellard (stage name Young MayLay) answered in a rather angry manner to these claims on his Instagram post:

“To kill the rumors ! Im not involved in GTA VI at all.. **** @Rockstargames period.. CJ will have to be voiced by another MF but not me IDGAF what yall heard..”

He added in a comment later on that he was underpaid and considering his displeasure was voiced back in 2008 by Michael Hollick who blasted Rockstar for the same reason. The voice actor Ray Liotta for GTA: Vice City’s Tommy Vercetti also had bad blood with the developer.

However, there might be hope for GTA 6 fans, considering that many voice actors were replaced in other games. If CJ does make an appearance in GTA 6 as a small role, it would not be strange to hear another voice actor. Hopefully, the developer will be more mindful of the way it treats voice actors in the future.

GTA 6 is surely under development for PS5 and Xbox Series X and it is only a matter of time until Rockstar will finally tease it.
