Huawei‘s foldable Mate X phone has already seen a lot of delays, as you probably know by now. The phone is reportedly ready to go on sale.
All this sounds like good news, but unfortunately, things are not exactly like this.
Huawei Mate X is only available in China at the moment
There’s also bad news for everyone who is interested in getting this new device – early adopters will not be able to get the phone outside of China because at the moment it’s only available there.
It’s also worth noting that Huawei has taken a different approach compared to Samsung.
The Galaxy Fold, as you probably know by now, opens like a book in order to reveal a larger screen on the inside.
The Mate X, on the other hand, reportedly has a wraparound outside display that is accessible even when the device is closed.
The company unveiled the launch that we mentioned above on Weibo and during an event in Shenzhen.
The tech giant also made sure to reveal the fact that it had shipped 200 million phones so far this year.
Huawei Mate X will become available starting November 15
At the event, Huawei said the Mate X will be available from November 15 from 16,999 yuan ($2,400, £1,860), according to the latest reports coming from the online publication CNET.
“Our strategy is based on carriers’ 5G roll out in different regions,” according to a spokesman for Huawei.
The same person said over an email that “So far, Huawei has made the Huawei Mate X available in the China market on Nov. 15. A global launch plan is under review.”
So, as a conclusion, everyone who is interested in purchasing the Mate X instead of the Galaxy Fold will have to wait a little longer.
