How to Manually Remove Adobe Flash Player from your Windows 10 PC

Adobe Flash played an important role in the way in which the modern internet evolved. Back in the day it allows developers to display a variety of media content on their websites, ranging from videos to small games, in a manner that was attractive and easy to use.

As the internet continued to evolve, new and better standards replaced the aging Flash, which also became quite vulnerable, and it became a popular attack vector for hackers and other malevolent third-party entities.

Adobe has announced that it will discontinue Flash in 2020, but it is still present in many PCs across all over the world. Windows 10 comes with Adobe Flash preinstalled. If you want to boost the security of your system you have the option to uninstall Flash manually. Follow the tutorial written below to do so and keep in mind that you can also disable the Flash plugin for your browser if you don’t need it.

Removing Flash from your PC

  1. Go to the official Adobe website and look for the Uninstall Flash Player utility. It should be easy to find, and it is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
  2. Download the utility program in a location where it should be easy to find (for example, the desktop.)
  3. Run the uninstaller and wait until it opens.
  4. Click on the Uninstall button to remove Adobe Flash Player from your computer.
  5. After the process is complete, click on Done to close the window.
