Grand Theft Auto 6 Could Launch in 2021

After the huge success of the Grand Theft Auto 5, its forthcoming successor, Grand Theft Auto 6, is one of the most anticipated games today. The developer, Rockstar, hasn’t yet confirmed the continuation of the popular series; even so, they might have left a clue in the GTA 5.

GTA 6 Release Date Hinted in GTA 5

Similar to most of the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks appearing everywhere, the launch date for the game was released on the GTA 6 subreddit on Reddit. A user going by the name of VX97 uploaded several in-game screenshots from GTA 5, which show three different doors in the Los Santos International Airport. The doors have the numbers 2013, 2014, and 2021 written on them.

For a bit of context, GTA 5 was officially released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 only. The following year, GTA 5 was available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. The third year written on the door is in the future, which could lead us to believe it is the year when GTA 6 would launch.

GTA 6 Release Year Is In GTA 5?

The 2021 release year seems correct, as numerous sources have claimed that GTA 6 may launch around 2021 as a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive. A recent hint was given by Steven Ogg, the voice actor for Trevor Phillips in GTA 5. Ogg confirmed in an interview that Rockstar would launch GTA 6 in 2021, by saying that games typically take seven to eight years to develop. Therefore, it only makes sense that since GTA 5 launched in 2013, the release year of GTA 6 might be 2020 or 2021.

Other GTA 6 Rumors

There have been numerous rumors concerning the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto sequel, some of them even claiming that the story will be set in the ’80s. Vice City would be the location of the game, and the main character will be involved with drug cartels.

There are other leaks stating that GTA 6 will feature a better wildlife structure with new hunting mini-games and missions. However, as with all the unconfirmed rumors, it is better to take them with a pinch of salt.

In the meantime, we are expecting official confirmation from Rockstar with regards to GTA 6’s development.
