Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL Impressive Refresh Rate

Two of the most anticipated smartphones of the year finally available as Google has released the latest Pixel flagships. The official announcement was offered during the recent Made by Google event during which a selection of other devices was featured, among which we can count the Pixel Buds 2, Pixelbook Go, Nest Mini, and more.

The two devices were surrounded by rumors related to the specs and possible features. Read below to learn more about them.

An impressive refresh rate

Both devices feature a 90Hz refresh rate display, which shows beautiful images of high quality. Users can enable the faster refresh rate by activating the Smooth Display mode in settings.  The 90Hz panel reduces lower latency and screen flicker, improving the user experience.

Advanced face recognition and motion sensing

One of the highlights of the Pixel 4 range is the inclusion of motion sensors within the device, allowing users to use air gestures to perform certain tasks.  The device relies on the Soli motion-sensing chip to convert the motion into data, which can be interpreted by the operating system. Users also have the option to use facial recognition to unlock their device without the need to touch the display.

As expected, the specs are quite impressive as both the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL use the lightning-fast Snapdragon 855 processors paired with  6 GB RAM and the ability to charge them wirelessly. Stereo speakers can be found on the bottom of the devices, with the USB-C charging port placed between them.

Some fans will be surprised by the fact that the batteries are smaller in comparison to the one used for Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3A, but Android 10 should offer an extended battery life as it comes with new optimizations.

A dual-camera setup is present, as Google opted for a 12MP main sensor and a 16 MP telephoto lens. Prices start at $799 for the Pixel 4 and $899 for the Pixel 4 XL.
