The Garena Free Fire update is finally live! The update is one of the biggest out there, and it comes with many changes and some new features for the game. The update comes with a New Training Ground, the Kalahari Map, and a brand new character, that is named Steffie. This new character seems to be strong at the first glance, but it will definitely come with many surprises along the way.
Meet Steffie, the new character in Free Fire
Steffie enjoys painting, almost as much as she enjoys killing her enemies. She has an impressive ability, “Painted Refugee.” Which allows her to create a circular zone around her. All the players staying inside the area – those who are her allies – will take less damage from the enemies.
At level 1, any player from inside the circle will take 15% less damage from explosives and 5% less damage from basic bullet attacks. When she reaches the maximum level, Steffie reduces the damage from explosives by 25% and the damage from bullets by 7.5%. This ability is powerful and will definitely come in handy in some situations from the gameplay.
Many other novelties became available in the latest Garena Free Fire update
Besides releasing a brand new character, Garena also added the Kalahari map to the game. The map was released as part of the new year celebration event, but then it was removed after the event ended. However, right now, the map has been added to the game permanently. But the Purgatory map has been removed.
Garena Free Fire is a mobile battle royale game, which was developed by Garena Studios. The game was officially released on the 4th of December, 2017, for both iOS and Android. In November 2019, the game had more than 450 million registered users, and it had grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
