For the 2nd time in this month, Ford has recalled its brand-new line of vehicles named 2020 Explorer & 2020 Lincoln Aviator due to minor form of safety issues. This particular recall that affects a certain line of vehicles including 2019-2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty Trucks, 2018-2020 Ford F-150s, 2019-2020 Ford Expeditions, and 2018-2019 Ford Explorers was due to the potentially fault reclining mechanisms for the seat-back option. In totality, this recall touches around 550,186 vehicles.
A mechanical section meant for the comfort and relaxation has had the representatives of Ford Motor Company stressed. Ford mentioned that these potentially affected motor vehicles might actually be missing their “third pawl” which is an essential part required for the seat-back strength that assures perfect functioning of the reclining method.
Given this situation, the seats lack the stability to properly keep the person in perfect place when there is any event of accident or crash. As of now, Ford hasn’t come across any injuries sustained from these issues. In a statement released by Ford, it has been expected that most of these vehicles shall not require any repair. However, the dealers have to inspect the structures inside the seat to ensure safety.
