Final Fantasy XIV Companion Receives its 1.8.0 Update

You know what they say: if you’re not on Facebook these days, you don’t exist. But the world doesn’t end with the famous social network created by Mark Zuckerberg, as there are countless alternatives out there. And even if nothing may be better than Facebook, exploring other options can always be a good idea.

Final Fantasy XIV Companion can also be considered a worthy substitute for Facebook, as it allows the user to access the in-game friend list, chat with other people, make and share plans using the list of events, and much more. But even though Final Fantasy XIV Companion is considered a great choice by many, it gets even more improved along with its 1.8.0 update that just arrived.

What the 1.8.0 update brings new

The update addresses some minor in-game issues, and we can expect after installing to see things run smoother and faster than ever. Furthermore, there are several new functions that the 1.8.0 update brings for Final Fantasy XIV Companion:

  • In Community, members can be removed from the Chat function.
  • “Remove from Chat Group” can be selected by long tapping the character’s name within the member list.
  • You can now access “Purchase from Market” by long tapping the items from Market Board and Items.

However, you have to meet some conditions when it comes to using Final Fantasy XIV Companion:

“Please note that an active service account and subscription for FINAL FANTASY XIV are required to use this app.

Please also note that some features such as chat can still be accessed for the first 30 days after your subscription for the main game has expired. You will lose access to all features after this period.”

How to get the 1.8.0 update

Getting your hands on the newest update for Final Fantasy XIV Companion is like a walk in the park. All you have to do is to keep your phone connected to a stable WiFi network and wait for a notification to emerge on your screen and invite you to update. Otherwise, you can simply choose to manually download and install the update in the form of APK (Android Package Kit).
