Elder Scrolls 6 fans are eagerly awaiting a release date for the game.
The game is definitely coming, but the bad news is that it will not reach players as soon as they’d like it to.
Not too long ago, we revealed that there are various Bethesda comments and job postings that seem to be suggesting that the follow-up to Skyrim aka The Elder Scroll 6 could be preparing to enter full production at Bethesda Game Studios and this could also be happening sooner than anyone would have thought.
Elder Scrolls 6 could come out in 2022
Dexerto online publication just said that there’s a pretty much high degree of certainty that we will not see the game before 2022.
The reason was also explained by the online publication mentioned above. This is because Bethesda’s other big BRG Starfield is in the works, and it’s set to come first.
“Starfield is a game we’ve spent years thinking about and working on, something we feel uniquely positioned to pull off, and we’re incredibly excited about,” Bethesda’s Todd Howard said at E3 2018.
A teaser trailer is out
On the other hand, there’s a teaser trailer that has been released for the Skyrim successor.
Shared at E3 2018, it came with the caption: “Currently in pre-production at Bethesda Game Studios, the acclaimed developers of Skyrim and Fallout 4. The highly-anticipated next chapter in the iconic The Elder Scrolls series.”
“We’re also building toward the game after that and it’s the one you keep asking about,” developers said, while clearly alluding to TES6.
Todd Howard had an interview with IGN and said: “The gap in between [Elder Scrolls games] is going to be long, It already is.”
He continued and explained, “On one hand, I think it’s good to miss things. I think that makes people come to it with really, really fresh eyes, and I think when they eventually, eventually, see the game and what we have in mind, they’ll understand the gap more in terms of technology and what we want it to do.”
