Cyberpunk 2077: We Have More Details On the Size of the In-Game Map

We recently found out what Cyberpunk 2077’s open-world map would look like, thanks to some images of the game’s The World of Cybperunk 2077 Deluxe Edition on Amazon. The front cover of the art book comes with a network of buildings and roads, which seems to show what we already know about Night City so far.

Before today, the only in-game material we got was an image of Night City’s subway network in the first CGO trailer, which has come with an indication of the actual size of the Night City.

It’s still hard for us to see the exact scale of the map if this is indeed the map. You should also keep in mind that the actual Deluxe Edition cover is named An exclusive Night City map cover,” and it’s not easy to say if it is the same image as the cover.

Let’s say it is the actual map, and we can compare it to the previous comments made by CD Projekt Red, which has said that the map will be smaller, but denser than the one from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It will also come with much more verticality and taller buildings.

Marthe Jonkers, the senior concept artist of the game, stated that they now have this option of vertical exploration, which they didn’t have in The Witcher. That map was bigger. So this is clearly an advantage.

Night City is big. But quality is more important than quantity. There are so many things to explore, but they would never make half-empty buildings. They are making sure that wherever you go, you get the high quality of the exploration. They want to make sure that around every corner, something is interesting to see.
