Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of the past decade, and after seven years of waiting for CD Projekt to work on the game, we are finally close to seeing it released on consoles.
This year at E3 2019, the hype was even bigger when Keanu Reeves revealed that he would show up as a character in Cyberpunk 2077, called Johnny Silverhand. Although he is just an NPC, his role is essential to the story and has plenty of dialogue.
The internet was never the same after this announcement, where we also found out some more details about multiplayer options.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Will there be a Multiplayer Mode?
According to Cyberpunk 2077 teasers and trailers, the world is in full chaos. Gamers want to know if there will be a chance for them to get a multiplayer mode to join their friends in this chaotic world. The open-world environment is the perfect setting for a multiplayer option, but according to CD Projekt Red’s Twitter posts, there is only a single-player option for now. Nonetheless, they confirmed that the multiplayer feature is currently in works.
Talking about multiplayer, the head of CD Projekt Red Krakow office, John Mamais stated that their resources and manpower is currently focused on the single-player aspect of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, adding that they are inviting other developers to work with them.
1/2 Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D. As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer's in the works! The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action. [- source]
Your Character in Cyberpunk 2077 Is V
Players will begin the game as the character V, and can fully customize their character as they see fit. CD Projekt Red has promised the single-player game will rise to players’ expectations. The character players choose can be of any gender, ethnicity, backstory, appearance and so on.
The official release date for Cyberpunk 2077 is April 16, 2020, but we will surely see a few more teasers until then!
