Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare‘s new season is now live, and it came with the first map changes to the title’s Battle Royale mode. However, those are not the only additions brought by the latest patch, as there’s also new Warzone weapons, several bug fixes, and a lot of other goodies.
Season 5 is the update with the most changes Infinity Ward has implemented in Warzone. The Verdansk map now features two bustling new or renovated locations with the train station and the stadium, which players can explore.
New Additions in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare
Moreover, there’s also a new functioning train circling the entire map. Besides these changes to Verdansk, the game will also have redesigned loot this season, including brand new weapons. Season 5 even brought back Warzone’s BR Duos mode, which is a fan-favorite.
In addition, Warzone’s Gulag is also receiving an amazing new change: instead of the old standard of creating one set of weapons that players can get at random in the Gulag, the weapons will now spin between four various sets. Players will receive a new set of random weapons each week, which should keep the gameplay very interesting.
Besides these Warzone changes and additions, the patch also features some new content to Modern Warfare. There are two all-new multiplayer maps, Petrov Oil Rig and Suldal Harbor, and also a Ground War map inspired by the Verdansk airport. Season 5 also brings the new AN-94 assault rifle to the game, as well as the ISO SMG.

Some Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Patch Notes
Owners of Warzone and the full version of Modern Warfare will have a decrease in size on consoles. We should note that the Season 5 update will have a download size of about 34 to 54 GB for those who have the free-to-play Warzone and the full version of Modern Warfare, and who have updated all the latest builds.
Therefore, expect the size of the updates to be as it follows:
PlayStation 4: 33.9 GB
Xbox One: 49.8 GB
PC: 54.2 GB (Modern Warfare owners) and 47.4 GB (Warzone only owners)
Once Season 5’s content has been included in the game and provided you had the build prior to the new season installed, Modern Warfare will have a decrease in general footprint on consoles.
Console players can also choose to uninstall or remove other data packs if they no longer need them for an overall smaller file size. If you want to do this, Activision has this article that details the processes and offers more information.
