Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Received the May Update

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its battle royale game Warzone have received the latest patch, which is now available for all players.

The May update comes with two new maps for Modern Warfare, a brand new battle royale mode, and an Armor Box item in Warzone, as well as some balance tweaks across both games and a few other changes and bug fixes.

The patch is now accessible, so if you own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or/and Warzone on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and/or PC, it should be available for download when you launch the game. However, note that it has a rather large download size, weighting at 30.86GB on Xbox One, with the PS4 version definitely being similar. Still, the Warzone update is much smaller.

The most important new additions to the game that the update brings include a new gunfight map for Modern Warfare, called Aisle 9, as well as a brand new Modern Warfare multiplayer map dubbed Hardhat. Together with the implementation of the new maps, Modern Warfare is also receiving a special 24/7 playlist for Hardhat and a Face-Off Moshpit playlist for Aisle 9.

In addition, a new DLC pack named ‘Fearless’ is now available for the Call of Duty Endowment charity, which donates all the proceeds towards helping veterans find work. Spec Ops also receives a new mode with ‘Modified’ missions that comprise special versions like headshots-only and more.

The Warzone battle royale mode has a bunch of new features coming with this update, including an Armor Box that players can discover as loot or buy through Buy Stations. This box replenishes an entire team’s armor, so it could be incredibly useful on the battlefield.

The Update Also Fixed Critical Bugs

Furthermore, Most Wanted contracts have made a comeback, while there are now more Gulag loadouts, as well as six various assault rifles and four SMGs. The patch also seems to have opened the vaults, which can be accessed by finding the right keycard. As soon as you make your way in, you can claim a treasure trove of loot.

The new update also addresses a few bugs, such as exploits that could enable players to access points outside of the map. An unusual bug in Warzone that traps players in the Gulag for the whole match has been fixed with the new patch as well.

There are some weapon balance changes also – the FAL and SCAR weapons now have decreased aim-down-sight times, and the penalty for holding your breath too long while utilizing a sniper rifle has been reduced. The VLK Rogue had the rate of fire increased, but the Holger 26’s recoil has been reduced.

After the patch was first released, the developer has also rolled out a subsequent playlist update that fixes a few issues, such as the one that made matches in Battle Royale’s Trios unable to start. You can see the full patch notes on the official page of Infinity Ward.
