Apple iPhone12 Specs Leaked — It Could Be Nearly as Strong as the MacBook Pro Laptop

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Barclays experts note that the next iPhone flagship from Apple could be almost as strong as a MacBook Pro. The leak reports from these two sources show some stunning specs on the iPhone 12 lineup.

Apple’s iPhones have led the flagship site of the smartphone market for a while, but Apple is going to raise the bar, even more, when the iPhone 12 is revealed. Could the incoming iPhone be as strong as a laptop?

iPhone 12 vs. a MacBook Pro

Aside from the past months’ leaks about the iPhone 12, which included a long-range 3D camera, time-of-flight sensors, 6GB RAM, a newer Face ID, 5G the and in-display Touch, we can all agree that the highlight of these leaks is the fact that it will resemble a MacBook Pro in terms of power.

Compared to the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 will get double the RAM – 6GB RAM, for better graphics.

A14 Chipset Uses 5nm Tech

Apple collaborates with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to bring the 5nm tech to its A14 chipset – a significant improvement over its A12 and A13 7nm chipsets.

Until now, Apple didn’t focus on processors when it came to marketing their smartphones, but this could be a thing of the past with their 5nm A14 chipset. According to MacWorld’s Jason Cross, the newer chipset that will have 15 billion transistors should get a score of nearly 5,000 points in Geekbench benchmarking tests. Compared to current results from the top performers, 5,000 points are equivalent to the ones reached by a 6-core desktop CPU-a 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Mapping the Area with the Long-range 3D Camera

Aside from being extremely powerful, the iPhone 12 will bring the long-range 3D camera, which can map the environment up to a range of 4.5 meters. The current tech used in Face ID only has a range of 25-50 cm.

The 3D photo captures will also be improved by time-of-flight sensors, which are similar to the TrueDepth system in FaceID. Add the collaboration with Sony, and Apple will make AR and VR a possibility with their 2020 iPhone flagships.

We can all agree these specs are incredible, and if the leaks are accurate, the iPhone 12 will put Apple at the top of the flagship lists.
