Activision Blizzard will release all its franchises on the mobile platform

Activision Blizzard is planning on extending its boundaries over the mobile gaming platform. The video game company will increase its contribution to the platform in the upcoming years. According to Daniel Alegre, Activision Blizzard president, over the time, all franchises will have a mobile version.

The news comes from the latest investor call. At the moment, the company seems to be more focused on the console and PC platform. There is no secret that those two platforms are the most popular for now. However, soon, they will expand to the mobile gaming platform. Although they are currently considering the move more seriously, it seems like it will happen eventually, even if it is going to be a slow process.

“We need to make sure that we’re enabling our franchises on the billions of mobile devices that are available right now,” says Alegre. “That’s by far our biggest opportunity, and we’re investing meaningfully to capitalize on this and to take all our franchises to mobile over time. That’s really, really important for us.”

Which one of the company’s franchises will we see more in the mobile gaming world? There are many out there already, such as Overwatch, Spyro, Tony Hawk, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Crash Bandicoot, Call of Duty, and Diablo. We are curious to find out more of the company’s plans regarding mobile platform integration.

Taking into consideration the success of the Call of Duty: Mobile, Activision Blizzard is on the right path with the new opportunity. The spinoff mobile adaptation of the game was released in 2019, and it already has 300 million downloads. The game is popular worldwide, and it arrived in China last month, which means the number of downloads will grow significantly. On top of that, the company owns King, the creator of the Candy Crush series. Therefore, things look bright for the upcoming mobile games.

Activision Blizzard’s next franchises adaptations

The Crash Bandicoot adaptation is set to launch next year. The series is called Crash: On The Run. Diablo is another title that will arrive on the mobile platform at some point in the near future. Which franchise would you like to see on the mobile platform next?
